Microtask is a distributed work expert founded in 2009 by four Finnish serial entrepreneurs. We have offices in Helsinki, Tampere and San Francisco. Our investors include Sunstone Capital and strategic private investors.
Our services
Our services are based on our proprietary software platform, which automatically splits work assignments into tiny pieces and distributes them to our digital workers around the world. Our first application area is document processing and data entry, which typically require large amounts of menial and repetitive work such as typing in forms, fixing scanning results and verifying data.
Management
Ville Miettinen, CEO
Wili is a serial entrepreneur and investor, with 15 years of professional experience in software engineering and computer graphics. He has been involved with the evolution of various open standards. Wili has been active in the Finnish early-stage technology investment scene, and holds board positions. At Microtask his responsibility is new business development and evangelism.
Harri Holopainen, Managing Director
Harri has an impressive track record creating value from software and technology. His founded a technology start-up and helped it to become a globally recognized expert (later acquired by the leading technology corporation in the market). At Microtask he is responsible for running the company, fiscal planning and the business plan.
Petri Hakkarainen, Solutions Manager
Petri has twenty years professional experience of software engineering and development in telecom, mobile, embedded systems and industrial automation areas. He has over decade experience of international multi-site projects management and team leading. At Microtask Petri is responsible for customer delivery projects.
Otto Chrons, CTO
Otto is an entrepreneur and technologist. He has 15 years of experience in mobile, security and graphics technology. Otto has an exceptional understanding of a broad range of technological issues and a passion for innovation. Otto has successfully grown a start-up to a medium-sized company, acquired by an international industry leader. He is an expert in both technology and business. Before Microtask he was the Director of Technology at Sasken Communication Technologies.
Panu Wilska, VP of Sales
Panu has been involved with global sales throughout his career. He has a successful track record building channels, recruiting partners to find complex solutions, overseeing offerings, and managing related projects. Panu has held a wide range of positions within the technology industry from highly technical production all the way to administration, sales and marketing. He’s lived overseas for years and traveled extensively for business on all continents.
