Of Maps and Men: is Apple relying on us to fix the iPhone 5?
September 27, 2012… solution, then perhaps a more effective crowd-based solution would be to use the crowd-based app Waze. That or go directly to the former Google Maps staff by using Google maps on your iPhone’s web browser. Somehow I don’t think this is what Apple intended.
If you can help shed some light on this issue, I’m all ears!

Other apps like Waze and the (bizarrely named) Tiramisu use crowdsourcing to provide real-time, instant transport information: where the bus is or which roads are busy. FixMyTransport is much more long-term focused. Problems can be reported long after they happen. Campaigns could go on for months or even years. March 2, 2011… given that crowdsourcing itself plays a role in increasing numbers of mobile apps (think of Waze, the crowdsourced traffic info app), it’s surely only a matter of time before the crowd testers end up rating a crowd based app (metacrowdsourcing?). I guess the question is, how many stars will the crowd give the crowd?

So, is there anything a little less risky the crowd could do to get motorists to kill their speed? Makers of iPhone and Android app Waze certainly seem to think so. Designed as a navigation and safety aid, Waze draws on a crowd of drivers to create a global map of real-time, constantly updated traffic information.
